Ford's Latest Tech Is The Perfect Cure For Driving On Indian Roads
Ford has introduced the ‘Pothole Mitigation’ Technology in its 2017 iteration of the Fusion Sport which can reduce the impact of running over a pothole.
Ford has introduced "Pothole Mitigation" technology in their 2017 Fusion Sport. In this technology, if you hit one of those dreaded potholes, the impact to your car will be minimal.
The Fusion Sport is equipped with sensors in front of the wheels that can detect potholes. When its sensors sense a pothole is on its way, it instantly sends a message to a sensor in the shocks that warns the suspension to prepare for the impact.
The shocks in front then send the same message to the shocks on the rear of the car. Ford said that the pothole mitigation technology would be a first in the midsize sedan category.
Ford developed the Fusion's pothole mitigation technology after thousands of passes over potholes at its Michigan Proving Grounds in Romeo.
Not only in India, but Potholes are also a problem in other countries too. So this technology will come in handy for drivers facing the problem of running over a pothole.
It is expected that the ‘Pothole Mitigation' technology will become more common in other cars in future. Ford initially tested the technology in Belgium because of their infamous potholes. And we hope this technology will soon arrive in India and we desperately need this technology.
