Ford India Is Offering Discounts On EcoSport, Figo And Aspire
Ford India is offering discounts up to Rs 30,000 in its compact SUV EcoSport, hatchback Figo and sedan Aspire.
Ford India is offering discounts on its compact SUV EcoSport, hatchback Figo and sedan Aspire to pass on the benefits of the soon-to-be rolled out Goods and Services Tax (GST) to customers.
Buyers can avail discounts on EcoSport in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. The compact SUV is now priced at Rs 7.18 lakh to Rs 10.76 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
As for the company's hatchback Figo and sedan Aspire, the discounts range between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 depending upon variants. The Ford Figo is now priced at Rs 4.75 lakh and Rs 7.73 lakh while the Aspire sedan is priced at Rs 5.44 lakh and Rs 8.28 lakh all prices ex-showroom (Delhi).
Ford India VP Sales Vinay Raina said, "We are happy to pass on (to customers) the expected benefits of GST ahead of its actual implementation,"
Under the new GST slabs, larger cars are expected to become cheaper compared to the current tax rates. The GST slabs attract 28 percent with cess in the range of 1 to 15 percent for cars with larger capacity engines.
Small petrol cars with engine capacity less than 1,200cc will attract 1 percent cess, while diesel cars less than 1,500cc will attract 3 percent cess.
Larger cars with engine capacity above 1,500cc and SUVs with length more than 4 meters and engine capacity above 1,500cc will attract 15 percent cess.
Luxury carmakers such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes have already announced discounts on their portfolio of cars in a bid to pass on the GST benefits for buyers.
BMW announced benefits up to 12 percent depending upon the model. Mercedes-Benz too announced discounts of up to Rs 7 lakh to pass on the GST benefits.
Audi India is offering discounts based on the benefits of GST and the discount up to Rs 10 lakh depending on the model.
