This Is The World's First Car To Get A Speeding Ticket

The world's first ever car to get a speeding ticket was back in 1896 which was driven at a speed of 13km/h. The 1896 Motor Carriage was chased and pulled over by a policeman on a bicycle.
The 1896 Motor Carriage was caught going four times the speed limit of the time as it 'hurried' round the Kent countryside. Driver Walter Arnold was pulled over by a policeman who pedalled after him on his bicycle.
Walter Arnold, considered to be one of the first to have a licence to sell a Benz car, was fined a shilling (Rs 0.62) plus other costs, for driving more than 3km/h as well as not following a man on foot waving a red flag.
Although the car may not be a hot hatch or supercar, the 1896 Motor Carriage was caught at four times the speed limit of the day.
Once the law changed to allow cars to go up to 22.5km/h, Walter Arnold competed in the annual London to Brighton run which still exists today as the Royal Automobile Club's annual Veteran Car Run, in which pre-1905 cars re-enact the ride from London to Brighton.
Now the Arnold Benz Motor Carriage will go on display at the motor show: The Concours of Elegance, at Hampton Court Palace.
The event will showcase the Le Mans-winning Jaguar XJR-9 and the Harrods-livered McLaren F1 GTR - both of which are competent of more than 386 km/h.
