Tesla's Elon Musk is already begun breaking ground on his Los Angeles tunnel network, he has now revealed a new set of photos and videos from inside his first tunnel.
He released a video through his Instagram profile revealing that their electric sled would transport car at 200km/h through tunnels. This comes in the backdrop of the Tesla founder's mission to build a network of tunnels under Los Angeles to alleviate the city's traffic problems with the launch of 'The Boring Company'.
The Boring Company is yet another extension to Musk's ever-growing portfolio of technology ventures. Known for his innovations at Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk's ventures traverse not just electric automobiles and space exploration, but sustainable and solar energy, neurotechnology, artificial intelligence among others.
The photos, posted on Instagram, show an opening tunnel and staging area built by The Boring Company on SpaceX's property. Musk also published a video revealing a test run of an electric "sled."
He said the Boring Company's new electric sled technology would automatically shift between tunnels, decreasing lag time in travelling long distances.
He added that this would enable to travel from Westwood, California to LAX in just five minutes. However, Musk will have to obtain permits from Los Angeles to build underground tunnels in the city.
The tech wizard also aspires to advance the process of boring tunnels, kidding that he wants boring machines to move faster than Gary, his pet snail.
Last month, the Boring Company revealed a video in which a network of tunnels that would speed cars underground across vast distances at high speeds.
