Dodge has been revealing small yet significant details of the upcoming 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, the recent teaser shows that the muscle car will come with a 'Drag Mode', assuring to dominate drag races.

The suspension of the new Challenger SRT Demon will have a drag-racing tuned suspension design that is exclusively optimised for straight line speed. Clearly, the Demon is only for buyers who live their life a quarter-mile at a time, and never faces turns.

Dodge, in a press release, said the Challenger Hellcat is capable of an even quicker quarter-mile time than its suspension will allow. However, that won't be the case with the Demon, as the muscle car will be the first production vehicle from the factory with a suspension tuned for drag racing.

With this optimised suspension, the Demon is designed to be "highly competent in all drive modes and configurations", but it is intended to dominate in 'Drag Mode'. The company said more details of the drag mode would be revealed in the coming weeks.

The SRT Demon's suspension was tuned and designed to "deliver maximum launch force while maintaining directional control". Dodge has achieved this with the electronically controlled Bilstein adaptive dampers, which can help optimise weight transfer for traction.

The muscle car's software can adjust the suspension's rebound and compression from firm to soft to shift weight to the rear while launching the car. The software can also disable traction control without losing electronic stability control.

Also, Dodge gave the SRT Demon 35 percent lower rate front spring and 29 percent lower rate rear springs. Besides, the company gave a 75 percent lower rate hollow front anti-roll bar and a 44 percent lower rear anti-roll bar.

All of the above goodies were combined with the SRT Demon's exclusive 315-width Nitto NT05R drag radials, reduced weight, and new Air Grabber cold air intake system should make the Demon a force to be reckoned with at drag racing.

Apart from the information on the 'Drag Mode', Dodge leaves us yet another vague sequence of number, which in most likely the performance of the Demon. This time around, the company gave us "13.5=575@500." So, what does it mean? Your guess is as good as ours. We'll have to wait until the car debuts at the New York auto show in March 2017.
