Datsun redi-GO 1.0-Litre Variant To Be Launched Next Month
Datsun will be launching the redi-GO hatchback with a 1.0-litre engine in India shortly, which could help sales.
Datsun, the Japanese brand owned by Nissan is gearing up to launch the 1.0-litre variant of the redi-GO hatchback in India on July 19. Datsun has not commented regarding the news, but sources confirm the date.
Datsun will launch the redo-GO 1.0-litre variant with a manual gearbox on July 19 and will also introduce the AMT version, but at a later stage. The redi-GO was launched in India last June and soon became the best-selling product for Datsun in India.
The Datsun redi-GO 1.0-litre variant will use the familiar, tried and tested engine that does its duty in the Renault Kwid 1.0-litre hatchback. Currently, the Datsun redi-GO is available with an 800cc engine that makes 53bhp and 72Nm of torque, with the help of a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The AMT variant of the Datsun redi-GO 1.0-litre variant will make its debut in October this year. The Japanese carmaker has so far managed to sell 30,000 units of the hatchback in India since launch. When the 1.0-litre variant hits the market, Datsun could price it around Rs 30,000 to Rs 55,000 more than the current model.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The move by Datsun India to launch the redi-GO with a bigger displacement engine could help sales, and if coupled with the new ad campaign, Datsun could be successful.
