Daihatsu To Develop Sub-Etios Car For India

BW BusinessWorld reports that a new small car from Daihatsu is expected to be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. The industry sources reckon that the company might establish a production line within Toyota's Bangalore plant.
Daihatsu is Japan's largest small car maker with an engine capacity of up to 660cc. Datsun is also an affordable brand owned by Nissan. As per emerging reports, Daihatsu is planning to launch compact cars in emerging markets including India.
Toyota Kirloskar Senior Vice President and Director of Sales & Marketing, N Raja, stated that the company is in talks with Daihatsu to bring in a small car for emerging markets including India.
Previously, Daihatsu had decided to establish a new firm called the Emerging-market Compact Car Company. The new company will launch competitive and better cars for the emerging markets.
