Bosch Shuts Down Bangalore Plant As Pollution Board Issues Notice

Auto component major Bosch has temporarily ceased operations at its Adugodi plant in Bangalore as pollution board issues notice.

Auto component manufacturer Bosch has temporarily shut down operations at its Adugodi plant in Bangalore. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has issued a notice to the facility.

Bosch has decided to close the plant after KSPCB directed to shut down all industrial units within the catchment area of Bellandur lake. The approximate loss is estimated as Rs 393 lakh per day.

In a regulatory filing, Bosch said, "Pursuant to the above notice, the company hereby informs the temporary closure of its facilities at Adugodi, Bengaluru with effect from today."

Bosch stated that the company is reviewing the directions of KSPCB and will consider all the options to restart the operations. The affected plants will be able to re-open after KSPCB inspects the facilities.

Bosch added, "The company has always upheld highest standards with respect to environment protection and is confident that it has been operating within the prescribed environmental norms at all its facilities."
