BMW X3 3.0-Litre Diesel Dropped From India's Product Line-up
BMW India will offer only the 2.0-litre in the diesel model in its X3 SUV range.
BMW India has dropped the 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel unit from its X3 line-up in the country.
The Bavarian luxury carmaker has discontinued the top-end diesel variant of the X3 SUV. The BMW X3 will now be available only with the 2.0-litre, four cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains in India.
Earlier, the BMW X3 3.0-litre, an in-line six-cylinder unit was offered in the top-end M-Sport trim and was available in the xDrive 30d guise.
The TwinPower Turbo diesel unit was rated at 255bhp and 580Nm of torque; this was mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with paddle shifters and was the only gearbox option available with the unit.
With the discontinuation of the 3.0-litre model, the BMW X3 is now available with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. This motor churns out 188bhp and 400Nm of torque.
BMW India also offers the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit which develops 241bhp and 350Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel motors come paired to the 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox.
