Audi's Doomsday Clock Is Ticking Again After Explosive Revelation
A document revealed in a German court by a former Audi engineer may just destroy the German carmaker's hopes of recovering from Dieselgate.
A document shown in a German court could very well sound the death knell for Audi's CEO Rupert Stadler's career as the head of the German company and could potentially end the China chapter of the Volkswagen group.
The document revealed by former Audi engineer Ulrich Weiss is signed by Audi powertrain development head Thomas Heiduk and who apparently signed off the use of cheat device in the Q7 after receiving as per Bild, approval from Audi board members Rupert Stadler, Ulrich Hackenberg, Werner Zimmermann and Michael Neumayer.
The need for the written approval came after Weiss reportedly asked Heiduk to get written approval from the Audi board after he was ordered to use the emissions cheating device in the flagship Audi SUV, the Q7. Weiss claims that he never followed the order.
What makes this document even more interesting is the fact that it is dated July 2015, a few months before the VW Emissions scandal was exposed.
Weiss was recently fired by Audi along with three more employees after his lawyers claimed that Audi was responsible for the creation of the defeat devices used in the Dieselgate Scandal.
