Audi A4 Diesel Might Be Launched In India In February 2017
According to the emerging reports the diesel variant of the Audi A4 might be launched in the Indian market in February 2017.
German car manufacturer Audi launched its premium sedan, the A4 in India in September 2016. Now according to reports, the diesel variant of the sedan will be launched in India.
The currently sold Audi A4 in the Indian market is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque.
As per the reports, the delay in the launch of the diesel variant of the Audi A4 is due to the recalibration of the diesel engine for a lower grade BS-IV fuel.
The globally sold Audi A4 diesel engine is fueled by the Euro VI grade diesel which is not available in India. The EA288 diesel engine delivers a power output of around 90bhp and 320Nm of torque.
The Audi A4 diesel to be launched in India will be a two-wheel-drive variant, whereas the globally sold model is equipped with Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The Audi A4 will take on its segment rival the Mercedes-Benz C220d.
