Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar Power Output Revealed
A report claims that Aston Martin's upcoming Valkyrie will churn out more than 1100bhp developed from a 6.5-litre V12-based hybrid powertrain.
We know Aston Martin is developing the Valkyrie hypercar with Red Bull Racing and the power output is expected to drop our jaw in awe. But as per the recent report, the Valkyrie will churn out close to a massive 1115bhp.
All this power will come from a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 and an electric motor powered by a Formula One-style kinetic energy regeneration system.
Red Bull Racing Formula One and its aero genius Adrian Newey tied-up with Aston Martin on the development of the car, which helps explain its 1030kg kerb weight.
This means the Valkyrie has a considerably better power-to-weight ratio compared to the Mercedes-AMG Project One, which will develop 1006bhp and weighs around 1300-1400kg.
Of the 1115bhp, the naturally aspirated Cosworth-developed 6.5-litre V12 will churn out 1000bhp, and the rest will come from the electric motors.
The KERS will most probably be developed by technical partner Red Bull Racing, with the F1 team also having a part to play in the getting the Ricardo-sourced seven-speed gearbox.
Production is going to be limited to just 150 road going cars; this makes the Valkyrie more exclusive than the Porsche 918 Spyder (918 cars), LaFerrari (500 cars), and the McLaren P1 (375 cars). An additional 25 cars will be made which is restricted to the track.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Aston Martin Valkyrie with the given power output of 1115bhp will be a hypercar to beat. However, we need to wait and see how it will perform when pitted against its immediate rivals.
