Aadhar, Pan Card And Mobile Number Mandatory To Register New Vehicles In This State
Aadhar card, Pan card and mobile number is mandatory to register new vehicles in Tamil Nadu. It is expected that all the other states in the country will follow the same rule.
From April 1, 2017, all the new vehicle owners need to provide Aadhar Card, Pan Card and mobile number to register their vehicles in Tamilnadu.
In a circular issued on March 14, 2017, Transport Department Principal Secretary, Dayanand Kataria has asked the regional transport officers to obtain identity proof such as Aadhar Car, Pan Card and mobile number before registering a new vehicle.
Necessary provisions have been made in the RTO database to enter the identity proof details of the new vehicle owner.
Currently, these type of data is not collected by the Regional Transport Office. But from April 1, 2017, all the required data has to be collected and should be entered in the registration certificate.
The circular issued mentioned all the registering authorities and assistant registering authorities of Tamil Nadu to strictly obtain all the required data along with the registration application.
It is expected that all the other states in the country will follow the same rule. If at all this rule is implemented throughout the country, then the government can control the number of vehicle registration on one owner.
