Kia Reveals The 2017 Picanto; India Launch Likely By Late 2018
Kia has revealed the 2017 Picanto, the new model is completely revamped compared to the outgoing model. It is expected that the Picanto will be launched in the Indian market by late 2018.
South Korean car manufacturer Kia has revealed the all-new 2017 Picanto hatchback for the global market. The small hatchback has been the best-selling car for the company in global markets.
The Kia Picanto is based on the Hyundai Grand i10 platform. According to reports, Kia is planning to enter the Indian market, and the new hatcback could be launched in the Indian market by late 2018, or early 2019.
The 2017 Picanto is similar to the Grand i10 in terms of dimensions. The 2017 model has been completely revamped, compared to the outgoing model. Kia has revealed a set of images of the GT-Line inspired Picanto.
The exterior of the car features a sporty body kit, projector headlamps, kidney grille, a sporty front bumper, and large air intakes with red accents. The new side profile is similar to the Grand i10, and also gets ORVM mounted turn indicators.
The rear section features new C-shaped tail lamps, integrated rear spoiler, and red and black accents on the rear bumper. The 2017 Picanto also gets newly designed alloy wheels.
The interior of the 2017 Picanto sports a multi-functional, three spoke steering wheel, floating touch screen infotainment system; red detailing on seats, gear knob and door panels.
Although Kia has not revealed the technical specifications of the 2017 Picanto, it is expected that the new model will be powered by a new turbocharged petrol and diesel engine and the transmission options will include both, manual and automatic.
The 2017 Kia Picanto is expected to hit the Indian shores by late 2018 or by early 2019. The car is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
