Korean car maker Hyundai is expected to launch the new 2017 iteration of its popular SUV, the Creta in the Indian market with minor cosmetic updates.

Although the major highlight of the updated Creta will be the Mild Hybrid Technology to improve fuel efficiency. Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers this technology in its Ciaz sedan.
The 2017 Creta will be powered by the existing 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine, 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine. It is expected that the updated SUV will come with mild hybrid system which is similar to Maruti Suzuki's SHVS.
If at all Hyundai launches the 2017 Creta with the mild hybrid system, then the SUV will be benefited from Central Government's FAME scheme. Under this scheme, electric and hybrid vehicles will get incentives which will reduce the pricing of the SUV in India.
