Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Revealed — The Beast Mode F150
The 2017 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 is a beastlier version of the standard Ford Raptor, which, is customised by Hennessey Performance Engineering
Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) was founded by John Hennessey in 1991. This American tuning house specializing in modifying sports and supercars from several brands like - Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Chevrolet, Dodge, Cadillac, Lotus, Jeep, etc.
Now, the engineers at Hennessey focused at the latest project from the Texas tuner. The company came up with the - 2017 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600. A mighty off-roading beast. The 2017 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 will only be limited to 100 units.
Speaking about the car, the Ford Raptor is powered by a 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged, Ecoboost, V6 engine. The massive V6 is capable of churning out 444 bhp of power and 691 Nm of peak torque.
The HEP took the same engine and tuned it. Now, the Raptor produces 597 bhp of power and 843 Nm of peak torque! The results of such a massive upgrade - The car can catapult from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Impressive!
"Our last VelociRaptor 600 was very popular with our V8 Raptor customers," said John Hennessey. "We are very excited about our latest upgrades for the twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 engines and for our clients upgrade who want even more power, performance, and off-road capability from their new Raptor trucks."
John further added, "We only plan to build 100 units for the 2017 model year. Our customers like having something special and exclusive as well as fast and fun to drive."
What exactly did the HPE do to the car? Well, they installed higher-flowing turbos that breathe through a less restricted air induction system. While, on the other hand, the boost pressure was increased from 18 psi to 21 psi, which is fed through an upgraded front-mount intercooler.
Moreover, a free flow dual stainless steel cat-back exhaust was replaced by the stock exhaust system which, also boosted the power up. Last but not the least, the car was fitted with an upgraded ECU.
There is an optional Hennessey's VelociRaptor Off-Road Package which will cost you around $12,995 (INR 8,66,084). In this package, you can upgrade your 600 with, which includes heavy-duty front and rear bumpers, LED lights, 20-inch Hennessey wheels with 35-inch Toyo tires, and a 3-inch lift.
The cost of upgrading the standards Raptor to the VelociRaptor 600 is $22,500 ( around INR 14,99,568) which also includes installation. It can be ordered directly from HPE or Ford dealerships; and moreover, the VelociRaptor 600 twin turbo upgrade comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty from Hennessey.
