Xtreme Offroad Challenge Season 2 Dates Announced
The registrations for the Xtreme Offroad Challenge season 2 is open which is scheduled for January 7th and 8th, 2017.
The second edition of the Xtreme Offroad Challenge (XOC) have been announced and registrations are open. The dates have been scheduled for January 7th and 8th, 2017 and will be held at Indoor Park, Kanjirangad, Taliparamba in the state of Kerala.
The offroad event organised by TEAM KROC (Kannur Riders & Offroaders Club) is a competitive event open to all classes of four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles with a low ratio transfer case. The aim of the event is to promote offroading as a sport, to encourage 4x4 vehicle builds, and to provide grounds to test the machine and the driver in Xtreme Offroad Conditions.
Spanning over two days, the event will witness all participants compete for the Xtreme Offroad Challenge trophy, with the first runner-up and thesecond runner-up being adjudged as well.
Registrations for the event is open and the fee is Rs 6,900 per head and is accepted only in pairs with a maximum two members in one competition vehicle. The registration will be a maximum of 30 vehicles as the cutoff limit.
The total prize money for the winner is Rs 4 lakh which will include winches, differential lockers, tyres, lights, build kits, premium shocks and much more.
The first day is scheduled for registrations, vehicle scrutiny, driver briefing, followed by dinner. The second day is the actual event where drivers will be put through the hardest terrains and accumulate points. On the final day, the vehicle with the maximum points will be declared as the winner.
The previous edition of the Xtreme Offroad Challenge included five special stages (SS) with the SS1 being the reverse trailer stage, wall climb stage in SS2, the SS3 included the technical stage or the hi-lift jack wheel changing stage, SS4 was a technical stage of articulation and co-driver strength, and the last SS5 included the sprint stage.
The 2015 or the first edition of the XOC winner was Sudin in the diesel category, Sreejesh in petrol category and Smitha from the ladies category.
