Engine Specifications Of The Volvo V40 & V40 Cross Country

Both the V40 and V40 Cross Country use a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 148bhp and 320Nm of torque.

The top of the line V40 Cross Country makes use of 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that cranks out 187bhp and 300Nm of torque.

All engine variants of the V40 and the V40 Cross Country are mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox which sends the power to the front wheels.

Design wise, the Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country get an updated grille and signature Thor's Hammer LED headlights along with new wheels.

Inside, both cars get multiple options for the leather trim with the V40 Cross Country also getting the option of dual tone upholstery.

The front seats are electrically adjustable and the driver's seat comes with memory function as well. Also present is a panoramic sunroof and a new infotainment system.

As is usually the case, Volvo has packed both cars with a boatload of safety features including seven airbags, ABS, ESP, and driving aids like park assist pilot with front and rear parking sensors along with a parking camera.

The new Volvo V40 is also the first ever vehicle in India to be available with a pedestrian airbag.

The new V40 will go up against BMW 1-Series and the Mercedes A-Class in India while the V40 currently does not have any rivals on the nation's roads.
