Volvo Unveils 2017 S60 And V60 Polestar
Volvo has unveiled the 2017 S60 Polestar and V60 Polestar. The Polestar badge is given to the performance oriented versions of Volvo's cars.
Both the S60 and V60 Polestar use the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder which is both supercharged and turbocharged to produce 362bhp and 470Nm of torque.
Polestar has fitted the engine witha larger turbo, new connecting rods, different camshafts, a larger air intake, and a higher capacity fuel pump to help extract the extra power from the engine.
All the power and torque is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Volvo has also slashed weight by 24 kilos over the front axle and 20 kilos over the rear.
0 - 100km/h takes 4.7 seconds and the top speed is limited to 250km/h.
To ensure that the cars come to a halt better, Polestar has fitted both cars with 371mm slotted brake discs which are hidden behind the 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels.
Volvo has doubled the number of Polestar badged cars they will produce in a year to 1500 as it has increased the number of countries the blue-badged cars will be sold in from 13 to 47.
