Volvo To Launch Two New Models In India By 2016-end
Volvo Auto launched the all-new S60 Cross Country model in the Indian market recently. At the launch proceedings, the Swedish automobile manufacturer promised two more launches by 2016-end. The S90 luxury sedan and an all-new updated version of the V40 hatchback will be launched in the country.
So far, Volvo India officials have not confirmed the launch dates of either models. The Swedish-based automobile manufacturer is most likely to introduce the V40 hatchback facelift in India first ahead of the festive season. Volvo India will launch the S90 sedan sometime during the festive season in the country.
Powering the S90 sedan will be a 2.0-litre diesel engine, the same engine that is used in the XC90 SUV. Volvo will tune the engine to power the sedan. No changes will be made to the engine of the updated V40 hatchback for the Indian market.
Both the new models will adorn Volvo's new design language. The S90 and new V40 models will get Volvo's signature Thor Hammer-style LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). The exterior body will be well sculpted and will provide a sporty avatar even in the regular trim.
In the Indian market, Volvo will face tough competition from the German luxury carmakers. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz currently lead the luxury car segment in India. Several new and interesting products have been lied-up by all of the luxury car makers for the Indian market.
