Volvo S60 Cross Country Crosses Over In To India, Priced At Rs. 38.9 Lakhs
Volvo has launched the S60 Cross Country crossover sedan in India. The Volvo S60 Cross Country is priced at Rs. 38.90 lakhs ex-showroom (Mumbai).
Volvo has installed its tried and tested 2.4-litre 5-cylinder turbo-diesel under the bonnet of the S60 Cross Country. The five pot turbo engine produces 187bhp and 420Nm of peak torque while returning a mileage of 13.7km/l.
0–100km/h takes 8.8 sseonds and the top speed is 210km/h.
The engine sends its power through a six-speed automatic gearbox (with paddle shifters) to all four wheels through Volvo's always on All-Wheel-Drive system.
The Volvo S60 Cross Country looks like a normal Volvo S60 that is on stilts. Volvo has added skid plates on the front and the rear as well as the sides. The Cross Country has a 65mm ground clearance advanage over its normal S60 sibling at 201mm and sits on 18-inch alloy wheels.
The S60 Cross Country is available in 5 colours — Rich Java, Osmium Grey, Oynx Black, Crystal White and Bright Silver.
All the upholstery on the S60 Cross Country is done up in leather. The centre console is typical Volvo with numerous buttons and the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment doubles up as display for the video from the reversing cameras.
The sunroof comes as standard and Volvo's dual zone climate control system ensures that tempratures inside remain comfortable while the rear window is electrically heated. The instrument cluster is a TFT screen as well.
Volvo has stuffed the S60 with a boatload of safety features including ABS with EBD, Dynamic Stability Traction Control and Volvo's City safety braking system.
Other safety features include cruise control, Electronic Brake Assist (EBA) hill descent control, hill start assist along with a speed sensitive steering wheel and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Also standard are dual step front airbags which are complimented by side and curtain airbags along with whiplash protection for those in the front seats.
The S60 Cross Country also features rain sensors and water repellant front and side windows.
The Volvo S60 Cross Country currently doesn't have any rivals but it will help the S60 in its fight against the BMW 3 series, the Mercedes Benz C Class and the Audi A4.
