Volvo Launches Special ‘Red Key’ For Its 90 Series Models — Why You Need One?
What does Volvo’s Red Key do? Well, it adds restricted functionality to Volvo’s 90 series models.

The new Red Key is offered through official dealerships at a price of £110 (Rs 9,225) in the UK. This key is available on the new Volvo S90 saloon, V90 estate and XC90 SUV.
So, now everyone is thinking about what happens when a Volvo 90 series car is opened and started with a Volvo Red Key? Well, it triggers all active safety systems on by default which includes blind spot monitoring and active lane keeping to traffic sign recognition.
The key also automatically limits the top speed of the vehicle to 120 km/h and it also programs the Adaptive Cruise Control to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front and engages the preset speed warning at 50, 70 and 90 km/h.
The Red Key also reduces the maximum volume for the audio system and also activates Forward Collision Control, Distance Alert, and Driver Alert Control.
David Baddeley, Volvo Car UK Operations Director, said, "Handing over your car to a third party often comes with a feeling of trepidation. For those who regularly entrust their car to others, Volvo's Red Key gives owners the confidence that their vehicle is being driven responsibly, no matter whose hands it's in."
