Volvo: Survey Reports Says Consumers Want Steering Wheel In Autonomous Cars
oi-Abijith Vilangil
Volvo's future driving survey, which was conducted among 10,000 consumers, the carmaker has come to a conclusion that consumers still want steering wheels in their cars even if it can go fully autonomous.
The survey proves that a majority would prefer to take control of their self-driving vehicle at any moment, without having to fiddle with a switch or joystick.
It stated that 90 percent of consumers feel that autonomous cars should be able to pass a human driving test. Also, 81 percent of the respondents said that it's the car manufacturer who should be responsible for any accidents that occur during an autonomous drive.
