Hunt For The Most Fuel Efficient Truck Driver — Volvo Asia Pacific Fuelwatch Concluded
Tenth edition of Volvo truck Asia Pacific Fuelwatch Challenge winners were crowned, which was held in Volvo's home soil Falkenberg, Sweden. After the preliminary national rounds, 14 top drivers competed for the crown.
The crucial race was held at Falkenberg Racetrack, Sweden. After an impressive drive in their categories Janghyun Son and Hsu Chin-lung were crowned as the most fuel-efficient drivers in Asia Pacific region in off-road and on-road category respectively. Indian National Champion Anil Reddy was first runner-up in off-road category.
During the competition, drivers showcased their skills in vehicle handling at maximum fuel efficiency. Volvo used its fleet management system, Dynafleet to accurately measures the fuel efficiency scores. Points were awarded on four factors, braking, speed adaptation, engine and gear utilisation and standstill.
More than competition, this event showcases the benefits of fuel efficiency to industries and also its effects on the environment.
On this occasion President, Volvo Trucks International, Helene Mellquist said, "The great performances offered by our contestants underline the importance of the driver when it comes to achieving optimal fuel efficiency. This competition is all about sharing insights to improve drivers' performance and benefit businesses in the long run."
