Volvo has introduced Android Auto smartphone integration to its 90 series models - the XC90, S90, V90 and the V90 Cross Country. Android Auto is now available as a part of Volvo's Smartphone Integration package, which already includes Apple CarPlay.

Now users can connect their Android smartphones directly to Volvo's Sensus media system and is available on any Android smartphone running 5.0 Lollipop or latest versions.

Android-optimised apps including Google Maps and Google Play Music are available directly via the car's infotainment system. Users can also access SMS and call service in their Volvo using Android Auto.

For now, it is only available in the UK and the Swedish marque is expected to introduce this in India soon.

Jon Wakefield, managing director of Volvo Car UK said, "It's more important than ever for our customers to stay connected while on the move. Our Apple CarPlay integration was already the best in the business, and the introduction of Android Auto brings our class-leading smartphone integration to a whole new audience."
