Spy Pics: Volkswagen Polo GTI Spotted In India
The Volkswagen Polo GTI will be one of the most powerful hot hatchbacks on sale when it finally lands in India later this year.
The Polo GTI, which could very well be India's most powerful hot hatch at its launch has been spotted in Pune, sporting some rather different kit.
The car spotted has no camouflage whatsoever on it and sits on smaller 15-inch wheels (the international variants sit on 16-inch wheels). Also quite surprisingly, the Polo GTI in the pictures features a 6-speed manual gearbox, which should make all the purists around swoon.
The Polo GTI is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 189bhp and either 250Nm(DSG Automatic Gearbox) or 320Nm (manual gearbox) of torque.
The madcap Volkswagen hot hatch can sprint from 0–100km/h in just 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 236km/h.
The Volkswagen Polo GTi is expected to launch in India during the festive season and is expected to cost somewhere around Rs. 20 lakhs as it is going to be imported into the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
