VW's Paris Motor Show Concept To Preview Unheard Of EV Range — Should Tesla Watch Its Back?
Volkswagen is all set to unveil a brand new concept electric vehicle (EV) at the 2016 Paris Motor Show as it aims to bounce back from the reputation ruining Dieselgate Scandal.
The new concept EV previews Volkswagen's aims for the future as it aims to dominate the electric vehicle market.
According to Auto Express, the new concept will ride on Volkswagen's new MEB platform which underpinned the Budde concept car(seen above) that was unveiled at CES 2016.
The same MEB platform will also underpin the upcoming range of Electric vehicles which will follow the concept from Paris.
The new range of electric vehicles will offer at least 400 kilometres (248 miles) of range on a single charge. The MEB chassis will support EV drivetrains with a maximum range of 599 kilometres (372 miles).

The MEB chassis will support EV drivetrains that have a maximum range of 599 kilometres (372 miles).
Both these range figures are quite a lot more than the range of many current and upcoming EVs from Tesla and Chevrolet.
In fact, the 400 kilometre minimum range of the vehicle is 54 kilometres more than the range of the upcoming Tesla Model 3 (pictured above), which has been booked over 400,000 times since it was unveiled earlier this year.
The new Volkswagen EVs are expected to enter production in 2019 and will go on sale in 2020.
