Volkswagen India Names Its New Compact Sedan 'Ameo'

Volkswagen has announced that its upcoming compact sedan in India will be named as 'Ameo'. The manufacturer will reveal the Ameo at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.

The Ameo will be manufactured at the Volkswagen's Chakan facility.The carmaker Designed Ameo specifically for Indian roads.The company had investment Rs. 720 Crore for the production of new model.

By launching the Ameo in India's already competitive compact sedan segment, Volkswagen is expecting the Ameo to be a game changer for the brand.

"With our new compact sedan, we will focus intensively on the specific requirements of our Indian customers," said Michael Mayer, Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.
