Volkswagen Employees Get USD 4,470 Bonus Despite Diesel Gate Scandal
Volkswagen may have faced a lot of trouble with the Diesel Gate Scandal, but there was some bit of happy news for the employees, as they will get a USD 4,470 bonus for the 2015 fiscal year.
Dr. Karlheinz Blessing, the Volkswagen Board Member for Human Resources said, "Volkswagen employees produced a very good team performance last year despite the difficult situation."
"Their strong commitment deserves to be acknowledged and is now being recognized in the form of this profit share, which is also a clear signal that the Board of Management and the Works Council will tackle the difficult challenges together."
Last year, Volkswagen employees got a bonus of USD 6,670, which is USD 2,200 more than what they got this year. Since Volkswagen sales have seen a drop globally, employees did take a cut in their bonus. If the trend continues, the bonus for next year could also see a similar cut.
