Volkswagen has revealed a series of sketches of its upcoming electric car. The electric offering from the German firm will be making its official debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.

The EV from Volkswagen will be a five-door hatchback, with sliding mechanism for rear doors. The sketches reveal that the EV gets futuristic lighting and the rear roofline that extends beyond the tailgate. With no conventional engine, the nose of the car is short and the front grille is absent.

The hatchback will be VW's second offering in the EV segment, as the manufacturer looks to move away from conventional fuels following the diesel emission scandal. Volkswagen targets selling around 1 million electric cars by 2025.
