2016 Vintage Bike And Car Festival To Be Held In Goa
The Goa Tourism department is organising a one day first-of-its-kind Vintage Bike and Car Festival on October 1, 2016. Enthusiasts of classic vehicles will be able to take part in the festival to showcase their vehicles. More than 50 vintage cars and bikes will be participating in the festival.
The festival will be held in the capital city of Goa, Panaji at the INOX Courtyard. Classic vehicles dated from 1921 to 1970 will be on display including Citroen, Austin, Morris, Cadillac, Ford, Chevrolet, Mercedes, Volkswagen, and bikes like BSA, Norton, and BMW.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said the one-day event is going to be very exciting as vehicles from vintage museums, those which are in use and maintained will be on display. The collectors of vintage cars and bikes in Goa and across the border have expressed their pleasure in participating in the event.
The festival will be flagged off by Mr. Parulekar on October 1, 2016, at Paryatan Bhavan, Patto at 10:30 am. The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and the tourism department who are conducting the event are expectingto attract inbound tourists and will add it to its calendar of events after the first edition.
Vintage cars and bikes participating in the event will pass through the city till Dona Paula junction and calumniate its way to INOX Courtyard for an exhibition to be held from 12pm to 6pm. The most appealing and oldest car will be awarded in addition to several other prizes for other competition and activities.
