SUVs Galore; Here Are The Upcoming Cars From Mahindra In 2016-17
Mahindra & Mahindra is India's largest SUV manufacturer and have been innovating to produce newer vehicles with best of technology.
The MNC headquartered out of Mumbai in India was ranked 21st in the list of top companies in India in 2011 for the Fortune India 500 companies.
Mahindra is optimistic about the future and has lined up several models in the coming days. Take a look at the upcoming cars from Mahindra in 2016-17.
Mahindra Scorpio Petrol
With the diesel ban looming over every car manufacturer and the gap between diesel and petrol prices narrowing, petrol models are taking prominent position.

Mahindra have some of the best selling SUVs in diesel, one of them is the Scorpio, however, a petrol model is missing in this range.
On the design front, there not much expected, however, the power unit will come in the form of 2.2-litre engine which is seen in the export model of the Scorpio. The motor churns out 140bhp and 280Nm of torque.

Mahindra XUV500 Petrol
Another bestseller from the Mahindra stable is the XUV500 and that too faces the same challenges as the Scorpio.
A petrol unit will help counter the issues surrounding the ban and the price gap between petrol and diesel set to reduce.

At the recently held 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the Mahindra XUV Aero concept took everyone by surprise with the superb design. The concept of the Mahindra XUV Aero was the coupe of the XUV500.
The XUV Aero reveals where Mahindra is heading in the design language in the future and this looks promising. The XUV Aero will be the most awaited SUV in the India in the coming days.

Mahindra XUV500 Hybrid
Mahindra has been showcasing the hybrid model of the XUV500, it is expected to be in the same configuration.

Even if the diesel prices are closer to the petrol, a hybrid can solve the requirement for a diesel mill. There is always demand for the diesel engine due to its pulling capabilities which is not seen in a petrol engine.
The hybrid XUV500 will continue to house the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and will get the added power of the electric motor to provide better performance in terms of mileage.

Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli
Mahindra has covered most of the segment in the compact SUVs, however, not been able to counter the competition from Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta.
To fill this gap, Mahindra-owned Korean SUV maker, SsangYong will bring the Tivoli which is powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine. The petrol will develop 126bhp and 160Nm of torque and the diesel will produce 113bhp and 300Nm.

Mahindra SsangYong Rexton
Recently, sketches of the soon to be launched SsangYong Rexton was doing the rounds and from the looks of it, the SUV looks aggressive and bold with its butch and beefy design.
The new 2017 SsangYong Rexton will be lighter compared to the existing model due to the ladder frame and this will translate to better performance in terms of mileage.
The Mahindra SsangYong Rexton will be powered by a new 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Gearbox will be sourced from Mercedes-Benz, which is an 8-speed automatic.
