The festive period is a time when car manufacturers launch new cars and help customers choose the best cars. Most of the car manufacturers provide offers and discounts which benefit both the customer and the manufacturer.

Here is the list of the most anticipated car launches during the festive season.

Renault Kwid AMT

Renault has launched the 1.0-litre variant of the best-selling Kwid in India on August 22, 2016. The French auto maker will follow it up with the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) variant of the Kwid during the festive period.

The popularity of the Kwid is spurring various models to further boost its market share of Renault in India. As for the AMT variant of the Renault Kwid, the specifications include the Easy-R AMT, Renault claims the technology was developed with the help of its F1 team.

The Renault Kwid AMT was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi and it featured a unique dial or a rotary gear shift for the AMT. The Renault Kwid AMT will be mostly powered by the new 1.0-litre SCe engine which churns out 67bhp of power and 91Nm of peak torque.

Tata Kite 5

Tata Motors is basking in the success of the Tiago hatchback by selling nearly 40,000 units since its launch. The Tata Kite 5 is being tested by the homegrown manufacturer in India making its launch imminent during the festival season.

The Tata Kite 5 is the sub-compact sedan based on the Tiago platform and will share most of the features from the Tiago. The Kite 5 will reap the benefits of the success of the Tiago and most of all it will come with a bigger boot.

Tata Kite 5 will come with the choice of a petrol or a diesel engine, the petrol Revotron is 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, MPFi engine which produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The diesel unit comes with 1.05-litre Revotorq, three-cylinder, engine developing 69bhp and 140Nm of torque and mated to the 5-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis

Maruti is reading the Ignis launch this festival period. The Ignis is a crossover hatchback and has characteristics of an SUV. The Maruti Ignis sports body cladding, wheel arch cladding and higher ground clearance.

The Ignis from Maruti will be powered by the 1.0-litre Booster Jet petrol engine, also will be seen is a 1.3-litre diesel unit. The Maruti Ignis will be sold through the premium Nexa dealerships.

Maruti Baleno RS

Another winner from Maruti will get the RS version and will be launched during the festive season. The Baleno has been a success and is currently the leader in the segment of premium hatchbacks.

The Maruti Baleno RS is the sporty version of the Baleno and will feature body kits from the front to the sides and the rear profile of the hatchback. Also, expected is a tuned or a new engine.

Maruti will mostly equip the Baleno RS with its 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine which packs a punch with 111bhp and 175Nm of peak torque.

Volkswagen Ameo Diesel

Volkswagen debuted the Ameo in the sub-compact sedan segment with the petrol variant, the diesel is expected to be launched this festival period.

The Volkswagen Ameo is based on the Polo platform and shares the engine specifications as well. The diesel unit expected to power the VW Ameo will be the 1.5-litre TDI that produces 89bhp and 230Nm of torque.

Tata Nexon

Tata Motors has moved on and has a new approach towards designing of its cars, this is evident with the stylish Tiago. Tata Motors known for its SUV image will look to recapture lost market with the launch of the Nexon.

The Tata Nexon is a well-proportioned sub-compact SUV which is anticipated for a launch this year. The Tata Nexon as a concept was showcased during the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi and it immediately raised the excitement level among auto enthusiasts.
