Toyota has taken a major step towards making its vehicles safer to its customers. It has introduced ABS and EBD as a standard feature across its model range.
This is the very first time a mass manufacturer has offered these features as a standard equipment across its product portfolio. This will also include the pre-facelifted version of Etios and Liva alongside Platinum Etios and new Etios Liva.
Many manufacturers tend to attract buyers by offering blinged up features and accessories instead of essential safety equipements. Earlier in 2014, when Toyota standardised dual airbags across all the models, it was wholeheartedly welcomed.
This move from Toyota comes in line with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways strategy to standardise ABS and dual airbags for all passenger cars by October 2018.
Currently, Toyota is the leader in passenger cars segment to offer most safety features across its lineup. Toyota also announced that there will be two to three percent of price hike across all the models. But this should not be an issue when it comes to safety.
