Even the ban on diesel cars more than 2000cc in the NCR of Delhi has not affected the sales of the Innova Crysta simply because it enjoys the brand equity of the customers in India.
Toyota has started the bookings for the petrol variant of the Innova Crysta to counter the diesel ban and make inroads in places where the diesel ban has been implemented.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors Director and Senior Vice-President (Sales & Marketing) N Raja said, "We had to shut down production at our Bidadi plant on July 30 on account of Karnataka bandh in the absence of which our growth would have been more in terms of sales."
He also commented on the diesel ban, "We are confident that the honourable court will consider our submissions during the next hearing and hope the matter is amicably resolved at the earliest."
The petrol variant of the Innova Crysta is expected with the spec of 2.7-litre VVT four cylinder engine - found in the middle east - producing 162bhp and 245Nm of torque which will be mated to 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
