Toyota Kirloskar Motor Wins National Exporter Award
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has won the Top Exporter Award for the year 2014-15.
The Indian wing of the Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) won the Top Exporter Award for the year 2014-15, at the 47th Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) National Award for Engineering Export Excellence.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor was crowned with this award for its outstanding export performance as Merchant Exporter - Gold Trophy.
The award was received Sandeep Bhagat, Deputy General Manager - Toyota Kirloskar Motor from Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Union Minister of Railways, Government Of India. At an award ceremony held in Delhi.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has a reputation of bagging the Export Excellence award by EEPC for ten years in the Southern Region level and six years at the National level.
TKM has its manufacturing plant located in Bidadi in Bengaluru Rural Karnataka, which exports Completely Built Units (CBUs) such as the Etios and Etios Liva to foreign markets which include Thailand, Brazil, Indonesia, Philippines, Argentina and South Africa.
Senior Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Raju B. Ketkale said, "We are delighted to receive this award as we see it as recognition of our efforts in designing & developing the best in class cars."
He added, "In the year 2014-2015, we were successful in achieving good export numbers. TKM's exports from the country stands at 12.08% on total turnover showcasing our successful determination to bring the Indian Automobile Industry to hit the global chart."
