Toyota Innova Crysta Variants & Models Explained!

The new Toyota Innova Crysta has launched in India and benchmark for the MPV segment has been set by Toyota. Let us read through the variants and models of the new Innova Crysta.

Toyota is offering the Innova Crysta in three variants - GX, VX, and ZX, also, the GX and ZX come in an automatic model as well. The option of 7 or the 8-seater is available in the GX and VX variants only.

GX - The base variant of the Toyota Innova Crysta is powered by 2.4-litre in the 5-speed manual gearbox and the automatic 6-speed gearbox. Both of them have the option of seven and the eight seater option.

On the exterior, the headlamps are multi-reflector and does not feature the fog lamp, the wheels are the 16-inch alloy including the spare wheel.

The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirror) and the door handles are body coloured, the ORVMs are electrically adjustable and it includes the turn indicator as well. The rear integrated spoiler and rear window wiper and defogger are standard across variants.

Inside the base variant of the new Innova Crysta, the air conditioner is manual. The new feature of slide and recline is seen across variants. In the 8-seater layout, the second row has the option of 60:40 split.

Seats are of simple black fabric and the MID (Multi Information Display) provides basic information on fuel and driving range. Also, the driving modes of Eco and Power are seen across variants.

The glove box is cooled in the upper compartment and the power window is on the driver side only. You also see the 12V charging port in the front and rear.

On the safety front, the base variant of the new Innova Crysta comes with 3 airbags and ABS with EBD and brake assist. One of the unique features is the clutch depress system to start the MPV.

VX - The mid variant of the Innova Crysta is a 2.4-litre engine and does not have the automatic gearbox. Apart from what we see in the base variant, the VX sports a chrome front grille, automatic LED projector, halogen with LED clearance lamp as well as automatic headlamp leveling.

On the inside, the dashboard presents a silver line decoration with the red wood-finish ornament which runs across the dashboard. The speedometer is 3D design with 4.2-inch TFT MID and illumination control.

For the passengers, there are personal lamps and the new U-shaped blue LED illumination light. The steering wheel is leather wrapped with silver and red-wood-finish ornament. The upper glove box is cooled and the lower is illuminated. The sun visor is fabric with mirror and lamp.

With automatic climate control for both front and back, the new Innova is taking a leap in features in India. Seats will be premium black fabric, and audio will be of 7-inch display touch-screen infotainment cum navigation.

From this variant onwards the push start/stop button is seen on the Innova which has become a necessity in all cars in India, this includes the smart key as well. On this variant, we see the back seat table to use for a laptop or even use as a food tray.

The power windows are on all four windows and steering wheel features mounted controls for audio, telephone, voice recognition and MID.

Coming to the safety features of the new Innova Crysta, apart from what the base gets, the VX will get back monitor, door ajar warning for all four doors.

ZX - The ZX is the top variant of the new Innova Crysta and comes only in the 7-seater layout and has both manual and automatic.

It features the 17-inch alloys and the ORVMs and door handles are chrome and the ORVMs comes with the puddle lamps as well.

On the inside, is the where you can see a whole lot of difference, the automatic variant boasts of silver line decoration and hazel wood-finish ornament and same feel for the steering wheel along with leather wrapping, this can be seen in the inner door garnish and console box.

The 4.2-inch TFT MID throws up a lot of information like the navigation display, audio display, phone caller display, and warning system.

On the comfort front, the top variant of the Innova Crysta comes with 8-way power adjustable driver seat, passenger side Easy Slide feature. Black leather seats for the manual gearbox model and the automatic gets Hazel brown leather seats.

As for the infotainment system, the ZX features navigation system apart from what the VX variant get. There is also speed sensing door lock and on the safety front, Vehicle Stability Assist is seen for the first time in the new Innova and Hill Start Assist Control.
