Toyota Innova Crysta Reaffirms Its Dominance In MPV Segment
The Japanese car manufacturer launched the new Innova Crysta on 2 May, 2016 offering a premium MPV (Multi Premium Vehicle) redefining the MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) segment with the best of features.
Now, the Innova Crysta has re-established itself as the best selling MPV in India. Within a month of its launch, the Innova Crysta clocked sales of 7,259 units compared to 5,028 units in May 2015.

Despite the diesel car ban in Delhi - where Innova sales have been one of the highest - the new Innova Crysta has impressed many in the country. The old Innova sold 4,269 units in the month of April 2016 before it was stopped and make way for the new Innova Crysta.
Currently, the Innova Crysta commands a waiting period of 2 to 4 months, however, this could face rough weather in the coming months due to the ban of diesel cars above 2000cc. The Innova Crysta is the best premium MPV in India with the best of features.
The Innova Crysta is available in two states of tunes, a 2.4-litre diesel engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and produces 152bhp and 343Nm of peak torque. As for the 2.8-litre diesel engine, it churns out 175bhp and 360Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Innova Crysta is priced competitively depending on the variants at a price range of Rs. 14.69 to Rs. 20.78 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Currently, there aren't any rival in terms of sheer pricing and features, however, India does have smaller MPVs in likes of Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, and the upcoming Chevrolet Spin.
