Toyota Innova Crysta Leads The Race For The Company In India
Toyota sales during the festive period of September and October has been positive even though there were holidays during the month
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has reported sales of 12,625 units for the month of October 2016. The Japanese company sold 11,651 units in the domestic market and exported 974 units of its Etios series in October.
The main driver in sales was led by its MPV Innova Crysta which witnessed 45 percent increase in sales when compared to the same period in 2015. Toyota Kirloskar Motor, on the whole, sold 12,403 units in thedomestic market and exported 1198 units of Etios series in October 2015.
N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that sales in the festive period of September and October put together helped them clear most of their inventory in the plant as well as in the dealerships.
He further added that they saw a huge pull in the market in the last two months, especially for the Innova Crysta and has been doing phenomenally well since its launch in May 2016.
The Innova Crysta MPV has registered 45 percent surge in sales from May to October 2016 against the sale of the Innova in the same period last year.
As per the company, the newly launched Platinum Etios has received good response from the market since its launch.
The last couple of months saw Toyota producing lower units due to unforeseen holidays that was called due to the unrest in Bangalore in the month of September 2016.
Also, the list of festival holidays contributed to the sales for the Toyota Kirloskar Motor company and this has an overall impact on the sales.
Currently, the company has resumed the production to the full capacity which includes the upcoming all-new Fortuner and they are confident that they will be able to meettheir customer's expectations.
