2016 Toyota Fortuner Reaches Dealerships In India
We've been reporting about Toyota's plans for the new Fortuner in India. The car has been spotted testing on public roads too. Now, the latest reports suggest that the 2016 Toyota Fortuner has started reaching dealerships in India, as a model was spotted at a dealership in Ahmedabad.
Toyota started importing the new Fortuner in India in October 2015. Since then, the car was spotted multiple times being tested on public roads. The new Fortuner is already sold in markets such as Indonesia and Thailand.
The 2016 Fortuner features an all-new design language as the car is now built on Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA).
The exterior now features a chrome grille, a newly designed headlight incorporating LED DRLs, new 18-inch alloy wheels and redesigned taillights.
Globally, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner is offered with a choice of two diesel and one petrol engine.
The Fortuner models sold in India are most likely to be offered with only the diesel engines, similar to the Innova Crysta.
Toyota's 2.4-litre diesel engine offered on the Innova Crysta produces 148Bhp and 400Nm of peak torque, while the 2.8-litre diesel engine produces 175Bhp and 450Nm of torque.
Regarding the transmission on the car, the new Fortuner is expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
