Top 10 Selling Cars In December 2015
The Renault Kwid enters the list of top 10 selling cars for the month of December, 2015. Most models remain unchanged compared to November 2015, but, if there is new car that has made the entry, one model from November has to exit the list. Let's find out which model has exited the list and which position the Renault Kwid has taken.
10. Hyundai Eon
Taking the tenth spot is the Hyundai Eon, which has sold 6,562 units during December 2015. That is 9.4 percent more than what Hyundai sold in December 2014. The Hyundai Eon is the carmaker's entry-level hatchback, that competes with models such as the Kwid and Alto.
The Hyundai Eon is available with the below mentioned engine options:
- 814cc petrol engine (55bhp, 75Nm torque)
- 1.0-litre petrol engine (68bhp, 94Nm torque)

9. Renault Kwid
Making the entry for the first time is the Renault Kwid, which has sold 6,888 units in December 2015. The Renault Kwid has received overwhelming response in india and in a few months time, the Kwid has all it takes to move up the in the list.

At number 8 is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, having sold 8,019 units in December 2015. The Celerio's diesel engine option has helped the carmaker sell mmore units of the car, since in December 2014, Maruti Suzuki sold 4,851 units of the Celerio hatchback.

- 800cc diesel engine (46bhp, 125Nm torque)

7. Hyundai i20
The Hyundai i20 remains to be the second best-selling car for the South Korean carmaker. During December 2015, Hyundai sold 8,629 units of the premium hatchback, compared to selling 9,345 units back in December 2014.

- 1.4-litre diesel engine (89bhp, 220Nm torque)

At number 6 is the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, having sold 10,572 units. The Baleno is the second model to be sold by Nexa, Maruti Suzuki's premium outlet for cars. The Maruti Baleno competes with cars such as the Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, and the Honda Jazz in the Indian market.

Taking the fifth spot is the Hyundai's Grand i10, which is also the South Korean carmaker's best selling model in India. The Grand i10 features push button start, automatic gearbox, and other features that are seen in higher end cars. During December 2015, Hyundai sold 12,749 units of the Grand i10, compared to 8,210 units sold during December 2014.
The Hyundai Grand i10 is available with a choice of two engines:
- 1.2-litre petrol engine (81bhp, 114Nm torque)
- 1.1-litre diesel engine (70bhp, 160Nm torque)

At number four comes the Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback, having sold 14,548 units during December 2015. The Swift briefly lost its position to the Hyundai Grand i10 during November 2015, but was quick to regain its position. The Swift has seen drop in sales compared to December 2014, as 17,410 units were sold.

The third best selling car in India during December 2015 is the Maruti Wagon R. Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 14,645 units of the 'tall boy' design hatchback in 2015 December, compared to selling 12,329 units during December 2014.

The Maruti Swift Dzire comes in at the second spot, having sold 16,790 units in December 2015. The compact sedan has also been the best selling car for a few months in 2015.

The Maruti Alto remains at the top of the list as the best selling car in India during December 2015. The Alto competes with the Hyundai Eon and the Renault Kwid, but has proven to sell better than both combined. Maruti Suzuki sold 22,589 units of the Alto during December.
