Top 10 Cars Exported From India In June 2016

With the 'Make In India' campaign, many car manufacturers are building cars for outside markets. Manufacturers like Hyundai, Ford and many other are building cars in India and exporting it.

Here is the list of top 10 cars exported in the month of June 2016 when compared to June 2015.

10. Maruti Suzuki Alto

There has been severe competition in the entry-level compact car segment and Maruti Alto has felt the heat dropping from the numero uno position to the last tenth position.

Maruti was able to export only 1,989 in June 2016 when compared to 6,420 units in June 2015. With new competitors like the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-GO impacting the sales in the domestic market, the export to has come down.

Knowing Maruti, there is a possibility to revamp the entry-level hatchbacks and counter the competition.

9. Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Maruti has performed really well in the premium hatchback segment and the new Baleno has moved to the top 10 list of the most exported cars from India.

The manufacturer has sold 2,215 units for the global market and the number should go up steadily soon. In the domestic market too, the Baleno has outperformed in rivals and sales are on the upward trend.

The Maruti Baleno has good features and spec with attractive prices, which keeps the sales ticking.

8. Chevrolet Beat

The Beat from Chevrolet has been a consistent performer for the American car manufacturer. It has broken into the top 10 cars exported from India in June 2016.

Chevrolet exported 2,834 units as of June 2016 and is better than Maruti Suzuki who do not any other models on the list except for the Baleno and Alto.

Chevrolet has packaged the Beat well with a small-sized diesel engine and easy to drive in city condition which makes it a good buy.

7. Hyundai Xcent

Hyundai might not be selling much of the Xcent in India, however, it has done well in exporting the compact sedan.

Hyundai sold 2,502 units in June 2016, up by 769 units when compared to June 2015. The Hyundai Xcent is a sub-compact sedan built on the i10 Grand platform.

6. Ford Figo

Again, a car which is not doing that well in India, the Ford Figo had numbers of 3,417 units in June 2016.

The same time last, the Ford Figo was not even on the list, this is an impressive show by Ford to make it to the sixth position in the top 10 cars exported from India in June 2016.

5. Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai's best-exported car from India, the Grand i10 has been giving good numbers, however, fell one position from fourth last year.

The Korean manufacturer sold 4,281 units in June 2016 when compared to 3,276, the exported numbers are better than last year, however, one of its own models has pushed the Grand i10 down to the fifth position.

The small hatchback comes with performance with competitive pricing.

4. Hyundai Creta

The compact SUV which has taken the market by storm in the Indian market is also the best cars in terms of export for Hyundai.

Hyundai exported 5,602 units in June 2016 cracking the top 5 cars in the export list. The Creta with good and solid performance and the premium features help it to sell more.

3. Volkswagen Vento

Surprising on the list is the Volkswagen Vento, selling 5,776 units in June 2016. The Vento was not even on the list in June 2015.

This is despite the diesel scandal, the Vento has outperformed well for VW. The premium sedan from Volkswagen boasts of choice of two petrol engine and one diesel engine. Also, automatic rain sensing wipers, rear seat AC vents, and more.

2. Ford EcoSport

It might be facing serious heat in the domestic market, however, the Ford EcoSport has been performing well when it comes to exports from India.

The EcoSport, in fact, moved up the ladder from fifth to the second position compared to the same time last year in June 2015. Ford exported 6,253 units this June 2016, up by a massive 3,563 units from last year.

Ford launched the sub-compact SUV in the market and is known for its handling and drivability, in the recent past, it has been feeling the heat from Maruti Vitara Brezza.

1. Nissan Micra

The same time last year in June 2015, the Nissan Micra was not even on the list, this June 2016 it is the top exported car from India.

Nissan exported 6,807 units in June 2016 beating every other car manufactured in India. The Nissan Micra comes with loads of features, from the simple keyless entry to the rear camera for parking or even the option of four airbags.

The Renault-Nissan partnership and manufacturing plant used by both is paying dividends in terms of exports. The domestic market though has not been great for the Nissan Micra.
