Tata Zica Launch Date Confirmed

The latest hatchback from Tata Motors, the Zica will be launched in India on 20 January. The Tata Zica is the carmaker's newest product, built on an entirely new platform. The Zica will be placed below the Tata Bolt in terms of segment.

The Zica also features Tata's new three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre unit that develops 84bhp and the 1.05-litre diesel mill produces 69bhp. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox for now, and Tata Motors will equip the car with AMT later, as demand rises.

The Tata Zica will feature the same Harman music system as the Bolt, but with serious upgrades that make the system sound extremely well. Apart from the infotainment system with bluetooth connectivity, the Zica also features 22 storage spaces in the car, navigation system, parking sensors, and much more.

In terms of safety, the Zica is equipped with dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Corner Stability Control, and a reinforced body that meets current and future crash test safety standards.

The Tata Zica is expected to be priced around Rs. 4 lakh. When launched, the Tata Zica will compete against the Hyundai i10 Grand and other such models.
