Tata Tiago is the first model from the Indian manufacturer to feature Impact design language of Tata Motors. Now the hatchback has raked over 50,000 bookings so far.
The Tiago has been witnessing an immense response from the customers since its arrival into the Indian market in April this year. Currently, the Tiago has a waiting period up to four months on some of the variants.
The Tiago is powered by 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol and a 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine.
The petrol version of the Tiago produces 83.8bhp and 114Nm torque and the diesel engine pumps out 69bhp and 140Nm of torque.
Both the engines are coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. By the success of the Tiago, Tata is expected to introduce new variants of this hatchback in the Indian market.
Tata is said to be working on an automated manual transmission (AMT) version of the Tiago along with the most powerful variant of the hatchback which may be called as Tiago Sport.
Tata Tiago is one of the models to cross 4,000 units in a month. In the month of September 4,557 Tiago's were sold, leading to a growth of 24 percent.
The Tata Tiago is priced in the range of Rs 3.20 to 4.81 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 3.94 to Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel version of the hatchback. The sales of this hot hatch from Tata is expected to go up in this festive season.
