Tata Tiago With AMT Option Launching This Festive Season
Tata Motors has witnessed success with its all-new hatchback, the Tiago in the Indian market. Now, to further boost sales of the Tiago, Tata will introduce an optional AMT system. We can expect the AMT option in the Tiago by the upcoming festive season.
AMT will be offered only with Tata Tiago's petrol engine. Tata Motors also plans on offering the diesel engine with an AMT option at a later stage. Initially, the AMT will be offered by Tata only on the mid and top variant of the Tiago hatchback.
The base variant of the petrol-powered Tiago costs Rs. 3.20 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The diesel-powered Tata Tiago base model costs Rs. 3.95 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Expect the AMT option to cost more by roughly Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai offer an AMT option in the Celerio and Grand i10 models. The Tiago competes head on with both these products and introduction of AMT will add more value to the hatchback.
