Tata Motors launched its all-new small car the Tiago in India during April 2016. Now in a matter of a month, the Indian-based manufacturer has managed to sell over 100 Tiago's in Chennai. A celebration was organised for the first 100 owners of Tata Tiago in Chennai.
Surprisingly, out of the 100 Tiagos sold, 86 models were petrol, while the remaining 14 were diesel-powered hatchbacks. Majority of the customers have opted for the top-most variant in the petrol-powered Tiago. Clearly indicating the shift back to petrol models in the country.
So far, Tata Motors has received over one lakh inquiries for the Tiago model. They have converted over 15,000 into bookings across India. The Tiago showcases Tata Motors' future design philosophy, which is expected to attract younger buyers in the country.
Previously, Tata Motors organised a special treat for eleven of its Tiago owners. They received an opportunity to meet Tiago brand ambassador, Lionel Messi. All eleven Tiago owners were flown down to Barcelona Spain, to meet the Football icon.
