Tata Motors Plans To Set Up Office In Start-Up Hub Palo Alto
Tata Motors, the homegrown automobile manufacturer is in the process of setting up an office in Palo Alto in the U.S. Palo Alto is the startup hub in the United States and Tata Motors joins the list of automobile manufacturers who have set up offices here.
The company has already tied up with a half-dozen startup and the move is to do with the plan to create a network of offices in global startup hubs, this includes Tel Aviv, Portland, Warwick, and Pune.
With this Tata Motors is planning to partner with budding technology entrepreneurs in an effort to define future mobility solutions.
With a team of 10 - 15 executives, it will scout for technologies in autonomous vehicles and alternate fuel to get Tata Motors on par with world's leading car makers.
Commenting on the new plan, Tata Motors said that these networks will allow them to access new ideas for the future.
The company is working on three pillars of innovative mobility solution - technology, customer engagement, and digital ecosystem which will form Tata Motors business module and center of this pyramid for future.
While the R&D initiative of National Automotive Innovation Centre with Jaguar Land Rover will focus on core automotive technologies, the office in Palo Alto, Tel Aviv and Pune will concentrate aggressively in startups.
The company feels that the startups don't want to work with large groups as they seek independence. The new approach would help bridge that gap and realize the dynamic world of startups.
Tata Motors is planning to prepare for adigital ecosystem of future and understand the usage of data analytics as a core of defining the future roadmap for the company.
