Tata Plans To Launch A Mini-SUV, To Compete With KUV1OO & Ignis
Almost every manufacturer is exploring new segments to entice Indians to buy a vehicle. So far, the compact sedan and compact SUV segment have been well accepted in the country. Now we have the mini-SUV segment which is set to take the Indian market by storm.
Tata Motors plans on revamping its entire lineup of product in the domestic as well as global markets. Codename X451 model from the Indian manufacturer was supposed to be a premium hatchback, but is now being reported that it may rather be a mini-SUV model.
The Mini-SUV from Tata is most likely to enter production sometime during 2017-2018. Tata Motors is shifting its attention to capture younger buyers. The all-new mini-SUV will fit in the budget and style demands of the Indian youth, who is planning to buy a vehicle.
Currently, only the Mahindra KUV1OO model is testing out the market for mini-SUVs. Within 2016, Maruti Suzuki is supposed to launch its very own mini-SUV, in the form of the Ignis. Tata's new mini-SUV could be late to join this party if the launch is delayed any further.
Previously, the X451 model from Tata Motors was expected to spawn into a premium hatchback. Tata Motors planned to take on the Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno with the X451 model. Stay tuned to know more details on Tata Motors future plan and vehicle launches.
