Ahmedabad Tata Motors Dealer Fined For Selling Used Car
A dealer for Tata Motors in Ahmedabad was recently fined for selling a used car. The case was filed with a consumer court which has fined the dealer for selling a used vehicle to a customer. Even Tata Motors was held responsible and has been asked to compensate the owner.
Prashant Vyas had purchased a Tata Indigo back in October 2006. He brought the vehicle from Cargo Motors, which is located at SG road in Ahmedabad. The Indigo had multiple problems which is how he realised it was a used vehicle.
It was a local mechanic that found out and told Prashant Vyas that it was a used vehicle. Previously, Cargo Motors sold the Tata Indigo to Deepak Shah during May 2006. Within a few months, the vehicle was resold which is very surprising.
Consumer Court has directed that Cargo Motors will have to cough up the entire price of the vehicle which is Rs. 4.80 lakh along with Rs. 60,000 as compensation. Tata Motors has also been fined and will have to par Prashant Vyas Rs. 1 lakh.
