Tata Motors Aims At Top Three Position In Commercial Vehicle Segment
Tata Motors aims to be the third largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in global market by 2019.
Tata Motors aims to be in the top three position in global sales of its commercial vehicles and domestic sales of its passenger cars in the next three years.
Tata Motors Managing Director and CEO,Guenter Butschek stated that the company wants to be among the top three automakers in global and domestic markets.
Tata Motors have been an active player in alternative fuel powertrain. The company has developed hydrogen fuel cell technology which will power both passenger and commercial vehicles.
Earlier Tata Motors was in the top three automakers list in India. But in the past few years the lack of new and exciting products have resulted in losing significant market share in the country.
But the fortunes of Tata Motors could be turned, with the launch of Tiago hatchback the company is clocking good sales figures. And three more vehicles will be launched in 2017, so the future looks promising.
Tata Motors is in fourth position in India overtaking Hyundai this October 2016. Riding on the success of Tiago, company's hatchback sales doubled in the first quarter of 2016-17.
With the new Impact Design language and improved engineering which are visible in the Tiago hatchback and soon to be launched Hexa has attracted prospective customers in the country.
In the commercial vehicle department, Tata Motors aims to become the third largest manufacturer of medium and heavy trucks in the global market. To achieve this Tata Motors will set up local manufacturing facilities in Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Africa and West Asia.
